Stories from the Summer of 2009
This last summer consisted of late nights, early mornings, God's movement, playing of Mau, youth camps, and mission groups. The interns travelled the summer and spent many hours in the Jeep. We rode to Lebanon, Tennessee, Vicksburg Michigan, Ludlow Falls, Ohio, New Ellenton South Carolina, and Temperance Michigan. These trips consisted of interns driving, riding, sleeping, eating and overall making each trip enjoyable. The interns truly blessed us this summer.
I wanted to share a couple of stories from the summer:
In service, I spoke about what God was speaking to the youth of the camp. During that speaking, God pressed me to talk to youth directly. So I began to speak into each one of their lives. Well God brought me to a young man in the back row who God had a call on. I mentioned his name and told him that God desired him now...not when he was 30. Well the young man repsonded to God and went up to the altar to pray. I prayed over the young man and God gave me a burden to pray for him and his family for thirty days. After we left the camp, the young man became ill and went to the hospital and was diagnosed with Leukemia. The good news is that they caught it early and he has a great chance of recovering from it. It was amazing for me to see how God spoke directly to him and gave a Word for him and prepared him for what he was about ready to face. We truly do serve a God that goes before us!
In the next camp, I spoke to the youth about being overcomers out of Revelation 12. It was at that camp where I had the opportunity to talk to one young lady at the camp. She had three major traumatic events happen to her in her lifetime. She was so broken about it that she had bottled up all her emotions. During one of the sessions, God really began to speak to her and she began to share her story. I was fascinated to watch how the Spirit of God ministered to her where she was. The young girl found some healing at that camp and agreed to go back and share with her youth leaders to continue on the path of healing. God is so good.
Well there was countless stories and events that shaped our summer. These are a few...as I think of them I will post more...
Thanks to all the people that made the summer of 2009 a summer to remember!
